FAQ including treatments, location and transport

Hopefully the below will answer some of your questions and I’m more than happy to answer any others you may have

Where do you work from?

I work from 2 locations around the Brighton / Hove border area. Both are light, airy and well ventilated, maps on the main pages of website On Western Road I use a calm and peaceful treatment room at WellBN (formally Brighton Health and Wellbeing centre) it’s mainly separated from the main surgery and therapists use a different entrance. I also work close to 7 dials and St Anns Wells gardens in a lovely space. Appointments for both locations are available on the on-line booking system.

Do you do mobile massages?

Sorry no

How accessible are your treatment spaces?

Sorry, there are stairs at both locations, the 7 dials location has less than at WellBN

Probably the most FAQ! Can I park nearby?

Some of the roads near WellBN running north of Western Rd have Pay by phone parking, The closer you get to Brighton the more expensive it gets.

The 7 dials location also has nearby Pay by phone parking. Nearest roads are Granville Rd, Addison Rd and Colbourne Rd

How about buses and trains?

Many Brighton and Hove buses that run along Western Rd stop near WellBN such as 1, 2, 5, 5a, 5b, 46, 49. The nearest bus stop is Norfolk square

At 7 dials the number 7 stops at the bottom of Osmond Rd and the limited stop 3X stops at 7 dials roundabout.

If you’re coming from outside the city both Brighton (nearest) and Hove stations link to the no 7 bus. If you enjoy steep uphill walking the Brighton is an approx 15 min walk

How do I choose which massage is best for me?

Deep Tissue / Clinical massage or Thai massage work equally well for many conditions including back pain, so your choice is personal preference. If you are sensitive to massage, experiencing fatigue or chronic pain Myofascial Release can help. It’s possible to change your mind at the time of treatment for everything except Thai massage as this is on a futon mattress.

Reflexology has many of the benefits of body massage and can be combined with other therapies. Please contact me or see the treatments page for more details.

How many treatments will I need?

It’s very individual and both physical and emotional factors can have an impact also how long you’ve been in pain. A recent twinge in the neck will usually need less treatments than a long term injury. Generally you can expect a reduction of pain and increased movement in up to six treatments, often with a significant improvement within three sessions, ideally initially weekly. For chronic health conditions treatments every month or fortnight is beneficial to help manage pain and calm the nervous system.

Do I need to stick to the same type of massage?

No, it’s fine to receive a clinical massage then for your next session receive a Thai massage, it’ll still be as effective

What products do you use for your treatments?

I use vegan massage wax from Songbird, These are 100% natural and fully certified by the Vegan Society.

Consultations

To ensure I give you the most suitable treatment with the best outcome a consultation is required. I send the google form link for these a few days in advance via email, if you prefer I can send in a word document or fill in with you over the phone. If none of these options are suitable I’ll do the consultation with you before the massage, this will take approx 10 mins and is included in the session time.

How do I pay?

If you book on-line there is an option to pay at the time of booking, otherwise I take payment at the end of the massage. Both cash and card are accepted

What if I want to reschedule or cancel?

If you’re unable to make your appointment please let me know so I’m able to offer the space to someone else. If it’s within 24hrs there will be a cancellation charge. 24 -12 hrs it’s 50% of the full price and less than 12hrs it’s 100% of the full price. With more than 24hrs you can reschedule and cancel online, otherwise please contact me directly.
